UCI World Cup Mountain Bike Gran Canaria 2007 underlines the quality sport-tourism couple, which is promoted by the autonomous municipal council.
Gran Canaria hopes to become a common destination for elite sportspeople.

Gran Canaria will receive the first UCI World Cup Mountain Bike Gran Canaria proof (2007).
Gran Canaria´s island council presented the UCI World Cup Mountain Bike Gran Canaria this morning, through its second vice-president and Tourism-Transports councillor (Juan José Cardona), and its Sport councillor (José Miguel Álamo). This event is valid for the World Cup, which will take place on 17^th and 18^th March 2007 in southern Gran Canaria. The route is still to be determined.

UCI names officially Gran Canaria to be the MTB World Cup Marathon venue.
